Learn@Home: Online, on your own time
This online, self-paced program, developed by Google, is designed to prepare you for an entry-level role in IT support. The innovative curriculum will introduce you to troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration, and security.
The program is comprised of 5 training modules that include video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs and widgets:
- Technical Support Fundamentals
- The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking
- Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User
- System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services
- IT Security: Defense Against the Digital Dark Arts
To successfully complete the program, you will need to complete all five modules within six months of your start date. You will need to commit 10-15 hours per week of dedicated coursework.
You may complete the program sooner than six months. However, you may not go beyond six months.
Once you complete the program, you can opt-in to have your information sent to leading employers, including Bank of America, Cognizant, GE Digital, Google, Hulu, Infosys, MCPc, PNC Bank, RICOH USA, Spring IT, TEKSystems, UPMC, Walmart and its subsidiary companies, and of course, Google.
Credit for Prior Learning gives you opportunities to earn credit for college-level knowledge that you have already acquired and accelerates the completion of your educational goals. NOVA accepts select industry credentials for college credit. The
